Miguel Ángel García was born in Pereira Colombia in 1973. Due to his interest and ability to draw and color at an early age, in high school he participated in artistic competitions where he obtained the first places, giving a boost to his innate talent. In 1991 as a civil engineering student, he began to simultaneously study Plastic Arts in the city of Armenia, where he learned different techniques such as pastel, oil, watercolor and acrylic. Later he joined the drawing and painting workshop of the artist Liliana Estrada Manzur in 2009, where he had the opportunity to explore and improve painting techniques based on nature.

In 2020, Miguel Ángel entered the International Abstract Art Contest at the Collectors Club in the city of Quito Ecuador, achieving second place among more than 1,300 artists from 24 countries. He was also selected in April 2021 to participate in the third International emerging art collective in Seville, Spain, which encouraged him to continue exploring the structure of forms, the combination of elements of drawing and color, managing the illusion of a three-dimensional space on a two-dimensional surface.

Miguel Ángel currently lives in Bogotá Colombia where he continues to work on his artistic project.
